 ====== Audio ====== ====== Audio ======

-[[Audio Networking||Audio Networking]]+**[UNDER CONSTRUCTION...]**
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Powering on the system: ====
 +  - Mixer (power button is on the back right above the main Power cable)
 +  - Computer (power is just below the pink Dante cat-7 cable)
 +  - Speakers (via Siemens panel --> turn on all **odd numbered** outlets on the second spotlight page [add image(s)])
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Audio output (from computer): ====
 +  * Audio output should be set to Dante in Audio software
 +  * NOTE: It's best to keep the system output set to "Internal Speakers" to avoid loud/annoying beeps
 +  * Sample rate should be set to 48 kHz
 +  * **IMPORTANT: the system often takes 5-10 minutes to establish the connection from the computer to ALL speakers.**. This issue is duets the system having more that 32 total Dante devices (the limit of a single interface).
 +
 +----
 +
 +==== Using the mixer: ====
 +  * If it's not already loaded, be sure that **SCENE 101 HELLOWORLD210713** is loaded [update this, add picture(s)]
 +  * **To Do:** add overview of different scenes (i.e. default multichannel, multichannel + minijack, (front, rear, both)
 +  * 37 main output channels are connected to the speakers by default (access via Dante ch. 1-37)
 +  * 4 subwoofer output channels are connected to the speakers by default (access via Dante ch. 45-48)
 +  * the omni ins are channels 49-56 **(the minijack input are channels 49-50)**
 +  * The master faders for the mains and subs are the two on the righthand side of the mixer.  **PLEASE BE CAREFUL TO START WITH THE FADER AT -∞ AND SLOWY RAISE THE VOLUME TO AN ACCEPTABLE LEVEL.**. Typically levels between -10 and 0 are ideal.
 +  * all input faders should be set to 0 dB
 +  * output faders (in the output section (LS 01 - 30 + SUB 1 & 2) should be set to -20

 +==== Troubleshooting: ====
 +[reorganize/expand this/add images...]
 +=== I'm not getting any sound! ===
 +
 +It's best to go in a linear fashion from source (computer) to destination (speakers) --> need to sort this better (maybe add a check system diagram/specific "do you see ___, if yes/no then)...
 +  * Double-check that everything is powered on
 +  * **You may need to wait for up to 10 minutes for all the connections to be established** (although typically at least some of the speakers play right away after power up).
 +  * make sure you've selected Dante 64 as the audio output in your software [add: examples in Max, Reaper]
 +  * open Max and use **Audiotester_64_ch** (in the Extras menu) --> set source: **Pink noise**, Step Out1 from **Chan. 1** to **Chan. 48**, **click the button** on the left to start the test
 +  * Do you see any lights on the meters for channel 1 and 2 on the mixer?
 +  * Reload the default mixer setting (**SCENE 101 HELLOWORLD210713**)
 +  * add separate instructions for minijack...
